Conference Overview

The ANA-Illinois Professional Issues Conference brings together nurses from diverse clinical, academic, and leadership backgrounds to engage in meaningful conversations about current and emerging issues in nursing. This event offers a unique opportunity to share insights, network with peers, and explore innovations shaping the future of our profession. The theme for our 2025 Professional Issues Conference is "Embracing AI for New Pathways in Nursing".

About Amy McCarthy DNP, RNC-MNN, NE-BC, CENP

Over a decade of experience in nursing leadership and hospital administration. Clinical expertise in women’s & infants nursing. Advocate for empowering nurses to lead change. Current President of the Texas Nurses Association. Former Director-at-Large on the American Nurses Association Board of Directors. Holds a DNP in Executive Leadership from George Washington University, BSN and MSN from UT Arlington, BA in Biology from Southern Methodist University.

We invite dynamic presenters to share their expertise on topics that align with the conference’s mission of addressing timely and relevant issues in nursing. This year, under the theme Embracing AI for New Pathways in Nursing,” we especially welcome presentations that explore the integration of artificial intelligence to enhance practice, education, research, and leadership in nursing. Graduate Student Poster Presentations

We also welcome graduate students to showcase their work through our virtual poster presentation. Share your Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), Clinical Research, or Quality Improvement Projects, especially those aligned with the conference themes or that offer innovative insights into nursing practice.
