ANA-Illinois proudly announces the opening of nominations for our esteemed annual awards, celebrating exceptional contributions and achievements in nursing. Nominations are welcomed until August 31st, with the awards ceremony taking place at the Professional Issues Conference on November 2nd. Clinical Practice Award
This award honors a nurse who has demonstrated high skill levels in patient care, enhancing clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a registered nurse in Illinois.
  • Currently engaged in patient care across any specialty.
  • Possesses at least five years of experience.
  • Shows a strong ability to apply, implement, and evaluate evidence-based practices and quality improvements for enhanced patient outcomes.

Nurse Influencer Award
Recognizing a nurse whose influence has significantly impacted nursing science, care delivery, health recovery, or the nursing profession through various means including education, advocacy, and policy.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a practicing registered nurse in Illinois and an ANA Illinois member (or nominated by one).
  • Demonstrated impact on nursing science, care delivery systems, or health outcomes at any scale from local to national.

Student Nurse of the Year Award
Celebrates a student nurse who exhibits outstanding compassion, clinical expertise, and academic excellence.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a pre-licensure nursing student in Illinois.

Innovation Award
This new award is given to a nurse who has innovatively addressed a crucial need in nursing practice, education, or research.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a registered nurse in Illinois and an ANA-Illinois member.
  • Has introduced a significant entrepreneurial innovation in healthcare or nursing practice, education, or policy.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership Award
Focuses on supporting nurse leaders from historically and systematically marginalized communities, fostering professional growth and leadership development.

Eligibility:

  • ANA-Illinois member from a marginalized community as defined by our DEI Expert Panel.
  • At least two years of professional nursing experience.
  • Submission of a concise CV and a personal statement detailing how the leadership program will advance ANA-Illinois’ DEI mission.
