Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Curriculum - Train the Trainer Series

Posted about 4 years ago

Many Illinois Nursing Leaders and organizations have responded to our call to action earlier this year.  The purpose of the call to action was to re-envision nursing through participation in continuing education curriculum including cultural awareness of marginalized populations and related disparities in healthcare outcomes. We have conducted two of the 4 sessions but it is not too late to join us. Come and participate in this ‘train the trainer’  ANA-Illinois Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion curriculum. The curriculum is designed to include:

  • required readings
  • resources
  • learning activities

The curriculum aims to educate a nursing workforce to effectively manage and treat patients from diverse backgrounds coupled with a commitment to eliminate disparities in health care. Each workshop has been created to support inclusiveness and anti-racism within nursing practice and education. After attending a session, the participants can then present materials within their respective organizations. The third of the four-part series will be offered on October 27, 2021.

The first two sessions are now available On Demand.
