Additional Information

The 2023 Nurses Day at the Capitol.  This event is hosted by the Illinois Nurses Grassroots Coalition, founded in 2015 by ANA-Illinois and the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nurses.

Nurse Day at the Capitol is an opportunity for nurses of all backgrounds to gather together to advocate for policy that betters the nursing profession. This annual event allows nurses to hear more about nursing issues and identify opportunities to influence healthcare policy.

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION IS CLOSED BUT VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE REMAINS OPEN.

The hybrid CNE event will begin at 10 am and wrap up at 12:30 pm.  The event will give nurses from all corners of the state an opportunity to learn about the 2023 Legislative Priorities identified by the ANA-Illinois and ISAPN Boards of Directors. Every participant will be prepared to meet with their legislators, whether in Springfield or in their districts, to discuss these issues. For those participants attending in person, lunch is included, and then we will visit the Capitol to meet with individual legislators.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: LPNs, RNs (in clinical practice, academia, and administration), APRNs.  Pre-licensure students are encouraged to participate in the Student Nurses Political Action Day (SNPAD) held on April 18, 2023, in Springfield.

The 2023 Nurses Day at the Capitol will inform participants of the state health policy issues that impact nursing practice, education, and health care delivery.

The need for nurses to advocate for Illinoisans and themselves has never been greater. Join us at the capitol and make yourself heard!

2.5 contact hours will be awarded to those participants who meet the successful completion requirements.
